Community Support and Financial Assistance
Community support was necessary to enable this
project to receive financial assistance from the Kansas Department of Commerce
and Housing and the Kansas Department on Aging. Endorsements were provided by
the Wilson City Council, Wilson Senior Center, Wilson Fire Department, Wilson
Economic Development Corporation and the Chamber of Commerce, Lang Memorial
Library Board of Directors, and the Amazing 100 Miles Tourism Coalition.
In addition, Czech Cottages received endorsements
from U.S. Congressman Jerry Moran, Kansas State Senator Janis Lee, and State
Representatives Laura McClure and Jerry Aday.
Insurance coverage is being provided through the
Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Russell, Kansas. (Note: the cost of insurance is
the same as for conventional construction).
