Impact on the community
Czech Cottages’ location will be of great value
to its residents. It will enhance their quality of life because services geared
to their physical and social needs will be more accessible. A sort of campus
atmosphere will exist with the Wilson Senior Center across the street, the Lang
Memorial Library and the Post Office next door, and downtown businesses
including a doctor’s office within short walking distance. An atmosphere that
enhances independence for any of its citizens will benefit the community at
large.
Czech Cottages will benefit the community in
other ways, too. Community amenities such as the Senior Center and library will
be utilized more fully if they are more accessible to more people. The more
people to whom these community amenities are accessible the more they will be
used, and the more they are used the more they will be valued, supported and
appreciated by the community.
Czech Cottages will also establish a group of
citizens with easy access to downtown businesses. This will have a favorable
impact on downtown commerce since convenience is an important factor people
consider when deciding where to shop or do business. Czech Cottages will
encourage greater utilization and support for existing community amenities and
businesses.
